“Life” the
greatest gift of all.
The first day
being in UPSI, it feels so different, being among thousands of people and not
even knowing who they were. It feels kind of lonely and awkward as I was
clueless when it comes to making friends. But as time flies, it begin to feel
just right, I can manage myself well here. Meeting new people and being as a
part of an unknown community.
My
mom told me this one thing before coming to UPSI, “Find a church. No matter
what you do always seek for God first and He will grant you all the things you
wanted and all your needs before even asking for it.” And my mom was right, I
did not know what I really wanted from God, I just came here to study, to
finish this whole thing, wait for graduation day, and come back to Sabah . But, I discover that God has his own plan. I
realize that he want me to be a part of something here. Something that will
gradually change my point of view towards this one thing called “Life” I was so
grateful for this gift from Him. I found a community of people who treats me as
if I am one of their family members. I met this group of people after months
attending Sunday service at a local church here. As a “family” here, we often
exchange stories of our lives. We will gather on a specific day, where on that
day we will do some sort of meeting. We will tell our own story, what we have
been through, our thoughts and even problems we feel appropriate to share.
Everyone will take turns. Then the other
will give their respond. Be it as a form of advice or suggestion. We build each
other up and make each other strong.
I could feel an indescribable
feeling being among this people, simply say it is a feeling when we have
someone who understands us and we know that person will never betray us and we
do not even have to worry of being betrayed. I would say a feeling when we are
being with our family. Wait, I just describe it. Oh well. I am sure that I will
be having a hard time saying goodbye to these people.
“Life”
is the greatest gift from God. Everyday is a start of something new, meeting
new people, learning a new lesson and experiencing new journey. Although life
is not always “bright” and it may be “gloomy” sometimes. But, as God’s chosen
one, we have been granted with His wonderful gift of “Life.” We should always
learn to be grateful.
